Common House Chattanooga Wedding | Halle & Graham

Halle and Graham’s wedding celebration at Common House Chattanooga was the perfect blend of historic charm and elevated design. As their full-service wedding planners, we guided them through every step of the process, ensuring each decision felt intentional and aligned with their vision. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, we created a day that was thoughtful, personal, and beautifully reflective of their love story from beginning to end.

Common House
Originally built in 1929 as a YMCA, Common House Chattanooga is now a stylish private social club, though you don’t need a membership to host your wedding here. With in-house catering and beverages, a prime downtown location steps from hotels, restaurants, and local shops, it provided the perfect blend of convenience and elevated charm for their special day.

Stationary
Halle and Graham’s green and blue color palette was incredibly important to them and carried throughout every detail of the day. With Halle’s background in fashion and Graham’s career as a landscape architect, they wanted an invitation suite that felt refined, artistic, and rooted in their shared love of florals. The result was timeless, layered, and beautifully personal.

Getting Ready
Halle and her girls got ready in Common House’s spacious onsite suite, making for a relaxed and seamless morning. Graham kept his circle intimate, asking only his dad and brother to stand by his side, and got ready across the street at an Airbnb. They spent time in the billiard room on the first floor for photos and a little downtime before the day officially began.

First Looks
Halle chose to do multiple first looks with her bridesmaids, her dad, and Graham, because she truly loves her people deeply. These moments were emotional and intentional, allowing her to soak in time with each of them. It also gave us more flexibility to do a majority of the photos prior to the ceremony so Halle & Graham could fully enjoy cocktail hour after the ceremony.

Wedding Party
The bridesmaids wore varying shades of green, creating a cohesive, but dynamic look that photographed beautifully. In a sweet and untraditional move, Graham asked his dad to be part of the wedding party, standing alongside his brother. Keeping it small made it feel even more meaningful.

Ceremony
Their ceremony took place on the second floor of Common House in Ruby Hall, where custom drapery softened the space and added warmth. With a larger guest count and colder temperatures, an indoor ceremony ensured everyone stayed comfortable rather than using the typical ceremony space in the garden. Prioritizing guest experience was always at the forefront of the planning process.

Cocktail Hour
Cocktail hour was held in the garden under a tent with heaters, creating a cozy outdoor atmosphere. Halle and Graham intentionally joined their guests, making the most of that time together. Signature cocktails named after their beloved pups, “The Margo” and “The Henry,” added a playful and personal touch.

Reception Details
After guests made their way to cocktail hour, our team flipped the ceremony space into a candlelit reception. Halle and Graham were deeply involved in the design process, especially the tablescapes, opting for minimal florals in bud vases featuring Halle’s favorite flower, calla lilies. Because they chose a family-style dinner, keeping florals minimal allowed plenty of room for shared platters and encouraged connection around the table.

Grand Entrance/First Dances
Instead of a full wedding party entrance, it was just the newlyweds, keeping it simple and intentional. The checkered dance floor beneath a custom lantern installation became the true focal point of the evening, where Halle and Graham shared their first dance together. It set the tone for a night that felt both elevated and incredibly fun.

Cake Cutting
Their traditional wedding cake came from their favorite local bakery, Federal Bake Shop, a place they both grew up visiting as children. Choosing this bakery for their wedding day felt nostalgic and meaningful. They displayed the cake on Halle’s mother’s silver antique cake stand and used her serving set as her “something borrowed.”

Dance Floor
A live band was a huge priority for Halle and Graham and kept the energy high all night long. One of the most fun surprises was a t-shirt toss, featuring custom shirts of their faces, that had guests cheering and fully engaged. The dance floor stayed packed from the first song to the very last.

Send-Off
Guests lined up with sparklers for a glowing send-off under the night sky. Halle and Graham made their exit in a vintage green car that perfectly tied into their color palette. In the sweetest twist, Halle’s Grandma snuck in the back seat of the car to surprise them, making the end of the evening even more unforgettable.
