How to Write the Perfect Wedding Website FAQs (With Examples!)

Your wedding website is one of the best tools for keeping your guests informed and excited, but one section that’s often overlooked (and can save you countless texts and emails) is the FAQ page! Adding a thoughtful Frequently Asked Questions section helps your guests find everything they need to know in one place, from dress code to parking, and ensures everyone is on the same page before the big day.

From our experience as wedding planners, we’ve gathered the most common questions couples include on their wedding websites, complete with sample wording to help you create an FAQ section that ensures your guests are fully prepared for the big day!

Why Your Wedding Website Needs an FAQ Page

No matter how detailed your invitation suite or wedding website are, guests will always have questions. An FAQ page is the perfect way to answer those common ones upfront, clearly and kindly, so everyone feels confident about your plans.

It also helps you avoid repetitive conversations about things like plus-ones, kids, or attire. Whether your wedding is black-tie, formal, cocktail or casual attire, an FAQ section makes your website feel more complete, organized, and guest-friendly.

Common Wedding Website FAQ Questions (with Example Wording)

  • What is the dress code?

Example wording:
“Our celebration will be formal attire. Women: floor-length gowns are preferred, with options for elegant pantsuits or dressy separates that are still formal in appearance. Men: darker suits with ties or bowties are standard”

If your wedding is black-tie, cocktail attire, etc. simply adjust the language to match the formality.

  • Can I bring a plus one?

Example wording:
“We’d love to celebrate with all of our favorite people! Due to limited space, we’re only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!”

This keeps your message polite yet clear, no confusion about guest count, and no hurt feelings.

  • Can I bring my children?

Example wording:
“We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you the chance to enjoy a fun evening out!”

You can also add a local babysitting resource if you’d like to be extra thoughtful to parents traveling in for the day.

  • What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Example wording:
“The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating before the celebration begins.”

This helps ensure no one’s rushing in at the last second!

  • Is parking available?

Example wording:
“Yes! Complimentary parking will be available onsite. Attendants will be there to guide you upon your arrival.”

If parking is limited: “Parking is limited, so we recommend carpooling or using a rideshare service when possible.”

  • Is transportation provided?

Example wording:
“For your convenience, we’ll have a shuttle service running between the [Hotel Name] and venue before and after the celebration. Full pickup details can be found under the “travel” section!”

Transportation details are especially helpful for out-of-town weddings or venues that are off the beaten path.

  • Are there accommodations nearby?

Example wording:
“We’ve reserved a room block at [Hotel Name], just 10 minutes from the venue. You can book your stay using [this link] or by mentioning our wedding name when calling to reserve.”

This keeps it simple while guiding guests directly to where you want them to stay.

  • Other Important Venue Details

Every venue is unique, so it’s worth mentioning anything that might impact travel or timing, like time zone changes, remote locations, or limited cell phone service areas.

Example wording:
“Our venue is located in a different time zone, so please double-check your GPS settings to ensure you arrive on time! The drive is beautiful, but remote, so we recommend downloading directions ahead of time as cell service may be limited.”

These small details can make a big difference in helping guests arrive calm and prepared.

  • What time does the reception end?

Example wording:
“Our reception will end at  11:00 PM. We hope you’ll dance, celebrate, and enjoy every moment with us until the very last song!”

You can adjust the time to match your own schedule, but this gives guests a clear idea for those planning transportation or childcare.

  • Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Example wording:
“Our ceremony will take place outdoors, while cocktail hour and the reception will be held indoors.”

This lets guests know what to wear, how to style their hair, and what to plan for the day.

Your FAQ section doesn’t need to be long, just clear, friendly, and true to your wedding style. Think of it as your guests’ go-to guide for the day. A little effort here goes a long way in reducing confusion and keeping everyone on the same page.

Whether you use these examples word-for-word or customize them to fit your tone, your guests will appreciate the extra care you’ve put into making their experience seamless and stress-free!
