The Read House Hotel Wedding | Jaycie & Spoony

Jaycie and Spoony’s wedding at The Read House Hotel was the perfect blend of Southern elegance and sweet romance. Their color palette was full of whites, blues, and gold accents that perfectly matched the charm of this beautiful downtown venue. Here at Before the Vows we were honored to help bring their day to life and make sure every detail was exactly how they had envisioned their dream day.

Stationery

The couple’s stationery beautifully reflected their wedding style, featuring clean whites and soft blues accented with subtle gold details and delicate bows. Their custom wedding crest was thoughtfully incorporated throughout the wedding day, it can be seen here on the envelope liner for a personalized touch. The bride, Jaycie, designed and assembled the invitations herself.

Getting Ready

Jaycie and her girls spent the morning getting ready in the penthouse of The Read House, setting the tone for a relaxed and joyful day. With the help of professional hair and makeup artists, the morning was filled with laughter and fun. Jaycie chose to forgo a traditional wedding party and instead had a Maid of Honor and a group of close friends she called her “Something Blue” girls by her side.

First Looks

Jaycie chose to do three meaningful first looks on her wedding day, first with her “Something Blue” girls, then with her dad, and finally with her groom, Spoony. Their first look took place in The Read House Hotel’s newly designed outdoor garden, a space that felt like stepping into a charming European courtyard. Jaycie's dream was to get married outside, so this was the perfect setting for some of the most heartfelt moments of her wedding day.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the Silver Ballroom, where soft florals and decorative wall accents filled the room. Jaycie walked down the aisle on a custom runner featuring their wedding crest, adding a personal touch to the already stunning setting. The ambiance was romantic and timeless as Jaycie and Spoony exchanged vows with their close friend, Daniel, officiating their ceremony.

Wedding Party

Jaycie and Spoony chose a non-traditional approach to their wedding party. Instead of having bridesmaids, Jaycie invited her closest friends to be her “Something Blue,” asking them to wear blue dresses for the wedding. It was a sweet way to celebrate their friendship without the formal titles or responsibilities. She did have one Maid of Honor, a close friend and confidant who stood by her side throughout the day.

Cocktail Hour

As the ceremony ended, the doors of the Silver Ballroom opened into the mezzanine, where guests mingled over signature drinks and light bites. With Spoony being a pilot, aviation-inspired details were thoughtfully woven into the cocktail hour, from cleverly named signature drinks to a custom plane propeller guestbook for guests to sign. It was the perfect nod to the groom’s career and a fun way to infuse personality into the celebration.
